SUMMARY:MCA Fire Safety Course
DESCRIPTION:Overview\n\nThis one day MCA Approved Fire Safety Course meets 
 the requirements for the ancillary training of the Boatmasters Licence (BM
 L) and Annex 5 to the Workboat Code (Edn 3) and the Sport or Pleasure Vess
 el Code.\nThe subjects on this one day course cover:\nFire Safety\n\n 	Kno
 wledge of the theory of combustion.\n 	Knowledge of types and sources of i
 gnition likely to be encountered on vessels including the classification o
 f fires (A\, B\, C and D) and correct extinguishing equipment and methods 
 for each type.\n 	Awareness of flammable materials\, fire hazards and the 
 spread of fire on board including the knowledge of best practice precautio
 ns and the need for vigilance.\n 	Knowledge of correct sequence for fire d
 etection and raising the alarm ("FIRE"): find\, inform\, restrict and exti
 nguish.\n 	Knowledge of types of extinguishers including:\n\n 	• Water\n
 • Dry powder\n• Foam\n• C02\n• Fire blanket\n\n\n 	How to extingui
 sh fire including practical demonstration of the use of extinguishers.\n 	
 Knowledge of correct location of fire-fighting equipment on a vessel.\n\nA
 dditional elements for categories C and D\, and adjacent coastal sea:\n\n 
 	Awareness of types and use of fixed fire fighting installations on large
