About The Course
This MCA approved 1 day Fire Safety Course is a mandatory, practical and theory based training course aimed at skippers and crew on board small commercial vessels (under 24m). It covers fire prevention, risk managment and practical fire fighting using extinguishers and fire blankets.
It desinged for skippers and crew of small workboats, pilot boats, and commercial vessels and meets the requirements of the Boatmaster Licence (BML) holders, the Workboat Code (Edition 3) and The Sport or Pleasure Vessel Code.
Course Aims and Content
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
- Understand how a fire starts
- Demonstrate/describe raising the fire alarm
- Describe/identify the different classes of fire
- Describe/identify the causes of fire
- Describe/identify the common causes of fire on vessels
- Fixed fire installations on larger vessels

None.
Duration
This MCA Fire Safety Course lasts one day.
Certificate Validity
The MCA Approved 1 Day Fire Safety is valid for 5 years from the date of issue
