About The Course
This one day course gives students an understanding of this increasingly popular piece of equipment on both sailing and motor boats. Radar is an invaluable aid for navigation and collision avoidance but it is only useful in the hands of a knowledgable operator. The course can be conducted ashore using RYA approved software, or afloat on an authorised vessel. Course content includes:
- Switching on and set-up
- Understanding the picture
- Refining the picture
- Radar Reflectors
- Fixing position by Radar
- Pilotage by Radar
- Collision avoidance

Follows the syllabus of the RYA One-Day Radar Course and is ideal for anyone requiring a working knowledge of radar.
On Completion
At the end of the course, you will have a working knowledge of the use of radar in a small craft.
