Overview
The two-day RYA powerboat level 2 course provides the skills and background knowledge needed to drive a powerboat and is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence.
Led by our experienced instructors and undertaken on the wonderful Cleddau Estuary, the RYA Powerboat Level 2 Course will teach you how to handle a powerboat safely and includes close quarters handling, planing speed manoeuvres, man overboard recovery and collision regulations.

None.
Minimum duration
2 days.
Course content
Launching and recovery, boat handling, securing to a buoy, anchoring, leaving and coming alongside, man overboard, safety and buoyage, IRPCS.
Ability after the course
Self-sufficient power boater in the right conditions, aware of own limitations and those of craft. Additionally, the Powerboat Level 2 Certificate can be commercially provided the following additional certificates are held:
VHF Short Range Certificate
Valid First Aid Certificate
RYA Basic Sea Survival Certificate
Online Professional Practices and Responsibilities Certificate
Medical Certificate (ML5)

International Certificate of Competence
Please note if you are taking this course and intend to apply for an International Certificate of Competence, this RYA Powerboat L2 course will allow you to apply for a coastal ICC for Power up to 10m. Costs are based on a minimum of 2 attending and include VAT. There are also substantial savings on the commercial endorsement package – please have a look when paying online for various pricing packages
