Once you’ve qualified as a Keelboat Instructor, you may wish to deliver the Day Sailing Syllabus. This combination of KI Endorsement and DS Theory Course is a great way to develop your knowledge to enable a great delivery of that course.
Keelboat Instructor Endorsement Course Overview:
The RYA Keelboat Instructor Endorsement Course will include a pre-entry assessment with appropriate modifications for each boat discipline will be included in this 2 day course which may also include a theory test.
In order to attend the RYA Keelboat Endorsement course, candidates will hold the RYA Dinghy Instructor Certificate and have at least one seasons’ experience. They will hold the skills to at least the Seamanship and Sailing with Spinnakers modules and have powerboat handling skills in a teaching environment.
Day Skipper Theory Course Overview:
The RYA Day Skipper Theory Course is an intensive and comprehensive 50 hour course that will include the following subjects:
Seamanship
- Coastal Navigtion and Pilotage
- Chartwork
- Electronic Charts
- Position Fixing
- Plotting a course to steer
- Weather forecasting and meteorology
- Tides
- Collision Regulations
